I write messages to the sea and sometimes they’re answered.
I spend my time wandering the coastline, my footprints in the sand my only proof of existence. It is easy to be brought out of oneself here; thoughts release easily from the buzzing and scratching and chattering behind my eyes. The vastness of the water comforts me, and the silence claims a space in my being, soothing me into a gentle current.
