All paths lead to the sea: eventually. Roam far enough and we must confront this sudden soil/saltwater segue. The point where there are no more steps to take: where we must stop, rest. Drawn to the water’s edge to acknowledge at last our ultimately amphibious nature. Sink, or swim. Beached betwixt heaven and earth, awaiting the waves that will wash us clean—or away.
