A Swirl of Leaves and Sand

A Swirl of Leaves and Sand by Jendia Gammon

If he held his fingers just right, Seth could see the sun glow through his flesh. But now the sun weakened as September waned, and the bustle of the bayfront dwindled as the last of summer’s tourists nabbed their trinkets and headed back to parts unknown, but likely to work and to school. Such was the way of Septembers at Cape Slattery: the sea sighed, and the winds lowed, the sands shifted, and the world pivoted ahead of the equinox, and the winding down of the year.
